Ray Zhang

I have always been passionate about helping others and bettering my community. On weekends, I volunteer at the community center to help immigrants improve their language abilities. Here, I have taught immigrants different American idioms/slangs and helped them with their pronunciation. Volunteering experiences such as these have not only allowed me to connect with my community, but it has also helped shape me into the person I am today.

At school, I actively participate in a wide variety of clubs: Science Olympiad, National Ocean Science Bowl, Biology Competition Club, Track and Field, and Project Lead.

Outside of school, I love to read and write. In my notebook, I record stories about my trips around the world and everyday experiences. When I am not writing, I enjoy hiking trails and cooking different cuisines.
