What We Do

Making A Difference

Morse Elementary Food Bank Donations

All produce shown in the pictures below and more was donated to the Morse Elementary Food Bank. We just wanted to give a big thank you to Ms. Gray and Ms. Frendt, who were kind enough to help organize this arrangement. Most food banks don't accept perishable foods, so Morse was really something special!

We're definitely a small group of high schooler students with extremely limited budgets, but we are really passionate about community service and doing our part in reducing hunger. With our year-round gardens, we're hoping that our small donations can snowball into something great.

Teaching Others

After designing a hydroponics system and improving it through trial-and-error, we have worked hard at bringing it to more children, teens, and adults. We're trying to increase community involvement and bring this initiative to more students, empowering them with STEM and community service.

Reducing Plastic and Water Waste

Hi, Jasmine speaking! I had wanted to dabble in hydroponics for a while before this summer, but after sketching out blueprints and designs I realized that most hydroponics systems made of 2 by 4s and PVC pipes were way to expensive to be feasible, especially if we wanted to grow food that was going to be donated.

I set out to find a way to use cheap materials around the house to design a new hydroponic system. If you click on this page you can find out a little bit more about how much we've saved so far. Hopefully it inspires you to do the same!

Community Impact: What We Do

Snapshots

From individual hydroponic growing systems to food donations to our educational materials, you can find concise snippets of what we've done. A picture is worth a thousand words, and we hope that this quick summary can help inspire others to do something similar!

All edible materials shown here were donated to the Morse Elementary Food Bank.
