Helping the community through small or large ways is always beneficial, especially in these uncertain times. As a child, my family and I always used to travel to India, where many of our relatives lived. My aunt, an ophthalmologist, had multiple patients visit her clinic daily. After witnessing the numerous challenges faced by the impaired patients, and the way my aunt solved them so effortlessly, I wanted to help my community in any way possible. Ever since I was in middle school, I always had an interest in writing; whether it be poetry or personal narratives. My position as editor allows me to combine both my passions, in writing and helping others, to assist my community in a powerful way. These articles in the newsletter are sent to the Brookdale Senior Home, to provide our elders with entertainment.

In high school, there are multiple opportunities for students to explore their passions and help their community. As such, I am a member of Project Lead, Model United Nations, Swim, Club Med, Gift8Lives and Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA). Outside of school, I like to travel to different places to experience the unique culture around the world. In addition, playing piano is one of my favorite hobbies as music is a very important part of my life. I also enjoy spending time with my family and friends, as well as my relatives in India.
